Work together to identify meanings, underline clues, and discuss answers.
Ask each group to choose one word and create an original sentence using it correctly. Invite a few groups to share their sentence with the class.
Write and say an original sentence using one vocabulary word.
Review the correct meanings and clarify any confusion. Reinforce how context clues and precise language help with reading and writing.
Correct their work and ask any final questions.
Ask students to name one vocabulary word they learned and one clue that helped them understand it.
Choose two vocabulary words from today’s lesson and write one original sentence for each. Underline the vocabulary word and highlight the context clue in each sentence.
