Independently write 2–3 ideas in their notebooks.
Briefly define citizenship, rights, and responsibilities. Give one or two easy examples connected to money, jobs, or taxes.
Listen, take notes, and ask clarifying questions if needed.

Complete the vocabulary task independently.
Give students 4–5 simple scenarios, such as paying taxes, voting, obeying laws, or using public services. Ask students to label each as a right, responsibility, or both.
Work independently to analyze each scenario and write answers.
Ask students to answer two short questions: 'How does citizenship affect the economy?' and 'Why are responsibilities important?'
Write brief responses using lesson vocabulary.
Invite a few students to share one answer from the scenario or short-response work. Correct misconceptions and reinforce key ideas.
Volunteer answers and compare responses with classmates.
Close by asking students to complete the sentence: 'One way citizenship connects to the economy is ____.' Reinforce that citizens influence the economy through choices, work, taxes, and responsible participation.
Write one paragraph explaining how a responsible citizen helps the economy. Include at least two vocabulary words from the lesson.
