Students will observe, record, and describe common weather conditions using simple tools and visuals. They will practice identifying weather patterns and explaining how weather affects daily life.

| weather | The condition of the air outside at a certain time and place. |

Show several weather pictures and ask students to name each type of weather. Briefly review the vocabulary words.
Look at the pictures, share responses, and repeat key weather words.
Give each student a weather recording sheet. Model one example of how to record weather using words, symbols, or drawings. Then have students complete their own sheet independently using the provided pictures or a classroom weather display.
Observe the weather examples, record the weather on their sheets, and draw or write what they see.
Ask students to complete a short response page: What clothes would you wear? What activity would you do? What safety tip would you follow? Circulate to support as needed.
Work independently to answer the prompts using complete words or simple sentences.
Invite a few students to share one weather observation and one choice they made based on the weather.
Share answers and listen to classmates.
Review the main weather words and ask students to name one thing they learned about weather today.
Say one new fact or vocabulary word before leaving.
Students review the weather words and share one fact, one tool, or one choice connected to weather.
Students will be assessed on their completed weather recording sheet and short response page for accurate weather identification, use of vocabulary, and clear connections between weather and daily life.
At home, students will observe the weather once and complete a quick weather log: describe the weather, draw a symbol, and write one thing they would wear or do.
