Greet students and explain that today they will learn body parts in the foreign language. Point to your own head, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, arms, hands, legs, and feet while saying each word clearly.
Repeat the words after the teacher and point to each body part on themselves.
Use flashcards or the board to present 5 to 9 body-part words. Say each word slowly and have students repeat. Add simple gestures, such as pointing or touching the body part.
Listen, repeat, and copy the gestures.
Play a quick call-and-response game: say a body part and ask students to touch it. Mix the order and go slowly at first.
Touch the correct body part when they hear the word.
Lead a simple game such as 'Simon Says' using the vocabulary. Example: 'Touch your head,' 'Touch your ears,' or 'Touch your feet.' If students need support, model first.
Follow the directions and move quickly and carefully.
Ask students to draw a person and label 3 to 5 body parts with help from the word list on the board.
Draw and label body parts or copy words from the board.
Review the vocabulary by pointing to body parts again and asking volunteers to say the words. Praise effort and participation.
Say the words aloud and show the body parts one last time.
End by chanting the body-part words together one last time. Have students stand, point to each body part as it is named, and thank them for their participation.
Draw a person at home and label at least 5 body parts in the foreign language using the class word list.
