Display 5 quick-fire review questions or sentence starters. Ask students to answer orally or on paper in the target language. Prompt for full phrases, not single words.
Respond quickly using previously learned vocabulary and sentence patterns.
Model one example response about energy, then ask students to identify the strongest vocabulary and structure used. Clarify errors briefly.
Listen, correct, and note the model response structure.
Give pairs a short prompt such as: 'Which energy source is best for your country and why?' or 'How can schools save energy?' Circulate and support accuracy.
Discuss and prepare a 2-sentence response using at least two target vocabulary words.
Call on 2-3 pairs to share. Provide immediate feedback on pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary choice.
Share responses and listen for improvements and corrections.
Ask students to write one sentence using a vocabulary word and one idea about energy conservation.
Submit a brief exit ticket to show individual understanding.
Reinforce the key idea that strong assessment answers use precise vocabulary, a clear opinion, and a reason. Remind students to keep responses short, accurate, and confident.
Formative assessment through oral responses, partner discussion, and the exit ticket sentence. Teacher checks for vocabulary accuracy, sentence structure, and ability to explain an energy-related idea in the target language.
Write 5 sentences in the target language about energy: include one renewable source, one nonrenewable source, one way to conserve energy, and two personal opinions about energy use.
